Different forms of weblinks are confusing

I find it a bit confusing with the options of Links Weblinks, Web Links, and Story Links. Would someone mind giving a brief explanation of how they differ and why storylinks seems to have been chosen as the best option? Thanks!

Storylinks is chosen because it already provides lot of functionalities needed for a Dogg clone like "top today", "top weekly" and integrates with other such modules as well.

It is storylink only that is relevant in drupaligg context. I would be removing all Weblinks, Web Links in the next release and ignore them. Basically, all of them are some kind of drupal modules and it is storylink that we use in Drupaligg context.
