The requested URL /drupaligg/upcoming was not found on this server.
This happens for every page. Haven't used Drupal before, but I imagine that there is something missing from the install. The Home page shows fine, but can't login or get to any of the other pages.

Exact path and platform detail
I tried it on different servers and it is working well at my end. Can you please let me know the exact paths and the platform details? I would try to help you. In case you are not able to login, try deleting all the cookies from the brwoser and then login.
And please write me all the intallation path, server (lampp/xampp/apahe or any other) and the platform.
Thanks

This is Mac you are using.
This is Mac you are using. This seems to be a poblem with Drupal install on your MAc machine. Are you able to install Drupal on your machine?
I haven't done drupal installation on Mac. I suggest following solution:
1. Do you see upcoming with the following URL:
http://localhost/drupaligg/?q=upcoming
If yes, this meas clean URLs are disabled because you removed .htaccess. You would have to login using admin/admin12 from the following login:
http://localhost/drupaligg/?q=user/login
and then, go to :
http://localhost/drupaligg/?q=admin/settings/clean-urls
and disable clean-URLs.
2. Install Drupal. Did you try installing latest version of drupal? Check out how to install drupal on Mac and enable "clean-urls". I am not sure how this is done on MAc, but this seems to be the problem.
Please let me know how it goes.
I put .htaccess back (since
I put .htaccess back (since I want clean-urls) and I get this error in error log:
/Applications/xampp/xamppfiles/htdocs/drupaligg/.htaccess: order not allowed here
Any ideas?

Nopes. I donot have any idea on this front. You'll have to ask people on Drupal group for this .htaccess. This is the problem with Drupal installation on Mac and clean-urls.
Same prob
I use Mac os tiger, had the same probl as the other guy so I followed your adivce, disabled clean-url but the problem is still there (page not found). Please help
Try this
I have created this file page.tpl.php.txt (see in attachment). Rename it to page.tpl.php after download and Replace the current page.tpl.php with this one in the following folder:
drupaligg/sites/all/themes/spreadfirefox
And let me know if everything works out fine.
